If a picture is worth a thousand words,

how much is a movie worth?  You decide as you watch basic woodworking techniques in action!

Cutting at the proper angle when using a Japanese Style Pull Saw improves accuracy and speed.

Restoring the edge on a chipped chisel requires some patience, and following these basic steps:

Mark a line parallel to the edge.  Grind past the chipped edge to this line.

Hollow grinding can speed up metal removal as you restore the edge, or

Use coarse sandpaper to flatten the bevel.

Then move on to a coarse, then fine, stone and keep the bevel flat against the stone.

Finish by polishing the edge and back on a very fine stone.

Now that's sharp!
