| I've officially spoiled my wife. When we decided we needed a little storage in the dining room, I suggested some cabinets made from a wood substitute (MDF) painted white to match the window trim. "Are you kidding? I want Walnut!" she said. She was right (as usual). And so I began this ambitious project. The images below show various stages of completion of this dining room project. |
|
| The raw carcases occupied most of the shop during construction. They are built of Birch Plywood and Solid Walnut. The door Frames are individually fit to thier openings, shown here without their panels. | |
| This detail shows a practice corner handcarved to carry the bead detail
around the door frame corner. The actual door frames came out far better - That's why they call it practice! |
|
| The Carcases are in thier final location - waiting for tops
and doors. |
Doors and Tops - Coming along...... |
| Hmmm.... I think my tools would look pretty good in these cabinets.......I wonder if they would fit in my shop...... | |
Without Further Delay: Here they are, in place and complete! |

Now some photos of the wainscot portion of the project: |

| Short and sweet panels under the long window |

| Just Fabulous! | |

After! |
| And finally, some details that show some careful craftsmanship | |
Coped Corner moldings on all inside corners - Tight ! |
Flush Receptacle on horizontal surface of cabinet top. |
| Four Handmade Receptacle covers - Not bad, eh? | |
