Keep
pressure downward and against the fence.
Keeping downward pressure just forward of the cutterhead (on the outfeed table) requires constant hand adjustments.
Keep fingers clear of the cutterhead - the jointer is the fastest manicurist in the shop! The thumb is particularly vulnerable as it often hangs off the back of the workpiece.
Use push blocks (not shown here) on smaller pieces.
